Ahhhhh… The day has finally arrived. Sad and excited, for better or worse, I will be flying to Perth today…
Quite a hectic day I suppose, with few minor last minute packing and printing. Most of my relatives arrived to the house at around 4.30pm. After dinner, Mengq Yek arrived with Sze, Mich and Yeng (like pimp n da u-know-wat). Shah, Ashley and Serene will be meeting us there, or so we thought….
After some chit chatting, we leave the house around 8pm and arrive LCCT at around 9pm. By then, Weng Fatt and Kim have already arrived. And all of us got our hair cut! Anyway, there are around 20 people sending me off!!!! Especially my aunts who took 2 days leave and came all the way down from Frasers Hill.
This would my first time in LCCT, and I must say it’ll quite messy. We went out for chit-chat and ice cream after checking in. And this is the time when I heard Michelle saying something about KLIA, no no no, LCCT, AirAsia……… And I have a bad feeling about this… And true enough, Shah went to KLIA instead of LCCT!!! OMG OMG OMG……
10.20pm, it is time for us to board the plane.
I was bidding goodbye to everyone, when I saw WF hugging his other half and gosh, red eyes already… Faster chao!!!!! And before I can walk pass him, he already left his gf and walk damn fast towards the immigration point. He later revealed that he did it on the purpose that if he stay any longer, his tears will start cascading down like waterfall….. Luckily I am single….
During the scanning, one of the officer asked :”Encik ada bawa gunting ke?” I think about it and I realized that I put in a box of kit prior last minute. And I searched for 3 minutes but cant find anything. Later on I realize that it was actually a SWISS KNIFE that was in the pouch….wtf…… Sigh, lost another utility knife….
The ‘ride’ to Perth is freaking bumpy…… Lots and lots of turbulences. The plane even dropped 3feets at least at a sudden, prompting many people to go ‘woooow” and even a shirk from a girl.
After 5 hours of flight, we finally arrived in Perth International Airport….. A super small airport I must say. And the custom here is not like what I expected… One lady officer asked me if I brought any food from the plane, plants or blab la blab la.. I said no, just some medication. She said that’s fine and showed me to another line. Then another officer asked me to put the bags into a scanner. And to my surprise, when the bag pass through the scanner, non officer were looking. They were just busy talking!!! And later on I realize I actually have some forbidden items: dairy product. Guess what those items are…….

We took a cab to Kim’s house as me and WF will be staying temporarily there before we can get a accommodation here. It’s actually quite near our area. Just 15 minutes drive. And it cost us at a initial $5 upon boarding the cab with total amounting to $36+…. That’s like almost RM90!!!
After putting our stuffs there, we try to walk to the nearby magazine shop and got each of us Optus SIM pack at $29.95 each. Then we try to walk to Curtin University but found that it was not as easy as we thought. We asked round for at least 3 times before we could finally find our way.The people are really friendly and helpful here. Then we meet up some friends of Kim, took a bus to the city, open bank account with ANZ bla bla blab la, had lunch in a Japanese restaurant, bla blathen take a bus back. Sorry, no mood to talk about it cause it was kind if a torture for 3 of us. Reason? Simple… Minimum sleep in the plane, and walked NON STOP for 6 hours…….So I shall let the pics do most of the talking.
Finally, we reached Kim’s house and after taking shower, we slept for 2 hours. When they woke me up for dinner, I actually quite reluctant. I WANNA SLEEP!!! I told them to just go without me. But after some persuasion I decided to tag along.
This time, we walk 20minutes to Curtin Uni bus stop again, and meet up with Yen Han and a girl friend of his. Mei Wen I think is her name. She fetch us in her car and went to Carousel Shopping Centre. She said we are lucky to arrive on Thurs as each Thursday in the week is an extended hour for most shops. The closes at 9pm instead of the usual 5pm… GOSH, 5pm!!! Can u imagine that….. Anyway we are lucky to arrive on Thursday, so it’s Lucky no.1.
This really make me feel homesick and got me into emo mode. But the food does cheer me up a bit. After some walking, we head back to Kim’s house and we chit chatted for a while before sleeping at 2.20am here (since it’s Daylight Saving so it’s 1 hour ahead of Msian time)
Anyway, what I like about Aussies are the friendliness, and the responsibility and caring they shown to the community. Our bus driver actually halts to a stop, open the door and tells a lady in the car the she dropped her watch! What are the odd this happening in Msia.
When passengers get on the bus, they greet the driver and say THANKS YOU or GOOD DAY when they get off. They will automatically let their seats to those more in need.
And the drivers here are very polite and they follow the law closely. No one will park at the bus stops, and no one will try to run the red lights. They will let you go first if you put signal (traffic permitting), and no one will speed or try to overtake the slow car inappropriately. I wonder this will ever happen in Msia…… Sigh.
Anyway special thanks to Yet Han and Mei Wen (hope I get your name correct) for bringing us around.
